ABOUT THE BOOK
THE RIME OF THE BLACKBERRY QUEEN is a work of Historical Fantasy Romantic Fiction (AKA a Fairytale Romance!), written in the “magical realism” style. The story is set in the 1780s, even as the Age of Reason is beginning to take hold, challenging belief in all things fantastical. And yet, the magic and miracles born of love can never die– making for a Cinderella Story with the happiest of endings!
On February 15, 2013, verses from the Song of Solomon (SS 1:12 & SS 4:16) popped into the author’s mind like a belated Valentine’s Day gift. They made her begin to imagine a story wherein a king was as satisfied and contented as he knew how to make himself; he had everything he though he wanted.
As THE RIME OF THE BLACKBERRY QUEEN begins, our heroine and hero are both as happy as they can be, in their own, vastly different worlds. But when one world meets the other, it causes both their lives to be turned topsy-turvy!
As a satin- and high heels-wearing king named Ardent, and a backwoods blackberry-growing girl called Lou, take turns telling you their tale, may you enjoy finding out all they must do to ensure that the story which begins “once upon a time”, will end “happily ever after”! —Happy Reading!

MALE READERS’ ADVISORY:
Even though it may be a fairytale romance, THE RIME OF THE BLACKBERRY QUEEN is totally suitable for (adult) male readers of fiction. The first chapter, and about half the subsequent chapters are written from the hero’s (King Ardent’s) perspective. And hopefully you won’t find it too overly sappy and melodramatic… Plus there’s a “happy ending”! (Wink, wink.)
